Breeana enrolled with Melaleuca in 2018 solely for the laundry products, not to build a business. A couple of months after becoming a customer, she actually started promoting another company to help relieve her family’s financial burden.
That was when her enroller, Executive Director 9 Breeana Borchers, reached out. “She messaged me, ‘What are you doing? You should come to work with me!’” recalls Breeana.
She initially declined the offer and subsequent invitations from Breana to participate in Fast Track and Partner Up challenges. But after facing more financial struggles, especially from their son’s costly therapy, Breeana finally agreed, asking, “Okay, what do I need to know to start?”
Breeana rapidly advanced to Director 6 by the end of her first year and then to Senior Director 3 the next. Despite her initial success, she faced new challenges after those two years.
Rather than feeling disheartened, Breeana focused on self-improvement. “It was definitely a difficult time,” she reflects. “But I feel like these setbacks had a purpose because they allowed me to develop myself and get to the next level.”
Since then, things have certainly elevated to the next level, not only for Breeana and her Melaleuca business but also for her family. “When I began, Anthony and I weren’t married and couldn’t afford a wedding,” she says. “We were driving a hand-me-down car that wasn’t big enough for us. Melaleuca has allowed us to afford a wedding and to upgrade our vehicle, breaking so many chains.”
Breeana and Anthony are now focused on growing their business, becoming debt-free, and relocating to a different state.
Breeana believes the best way to overcome business challenges is by envisioning a triangle. “I call it the belief triangle,” she explains. “Each side represents a belief in either yourself, the products, or Melaleuca. I think the best thing to do now and again is to evaluate where you are on each side and then focus on the areas that you feel need strengthening.”
Breeana sees many, including herself at times, struggle to stay committed when facing challenges. “People give up before the miracle happens,” she says. “So don’t count yourself out. It’ll happen if you just stick with it. It might be painful temporarily, but it will be worth it when you’re on the other side.”
