After Years of Searching, She Found Renew®

Katrice Walker still remembers the night as if it were yesterday, her 10-year-old daughter at a sleepover, restless from the itch of eczema that never seemed to give her peace. A kind neighbor handed her a bottle of lotion, and to her amazement, the itching quieted, the redness softened, and for the first time, her little girl could rest peacefully.

That memory stuck with Katrice for years, long after that neighbor moved away. “I searched and searched for that lotion, thinking it was a drugstore brand,” Katrice recalls. “Eventually I just gave up.” Her daughter’s severely dry skin cleared up with age, and the lotion faded from her mind.

Years later, while watching Senior Director 2 Christi Farmer do an unboxing of Melaleuca products on social media, Katrice spotted a familiar bottle. Her heart skipped. That’s it! Renew Lotion. The very one she had been searching for all along. Now, with her teenage son facing the same skin struggles her daughter had dealt with years before, Katrice decided she would never be without it again. Today, she wants Renew Lotion to be there for other families too.

“I became a customer on April 28 and received my first box just a few days later, on May 1,” she says. “It was a Sunday I’ll never forget. The moment I opened my Melaleuca box, every product had me excited. The laundry detergent smelled incredible! The SplasH₂O® was absolutely delicious! I thought, ‘Wow, these products are amazing.’ At the time, though, I wasn’t interested in sharing with anyone. I figured I would just quietly shop for my family.”

Then life shifted. Someone close to Katrice was diagnosed with pulmonary and lung issues, and through Learn to Earn videos on the Melaleuca website, Katrice discovered how so many of the everyday name brands she grew up with were actually harmful to human health, affecting the skin and lungs in a myriad of negative ways. “It hit me: Staying quiet about Melaleuca would be a disservice,” she says. “If these products could help even a single person outside of myself, why wouldn’t I share?”

As Katrice navigates this new chapter, she studies the leadership qualities of mentors like National Director Rebecca Garrett and holds tight to her why, which will always be her family.

“In 2016, I faced personal losses, new normals, and a journey that demanded resilience,” she says. “Melaleuca is giving me a new purpose and an even bigger why.”
